Gone to the Dogs Rescue – Rescuing Homeless Dogs in Central & Southern California

Man holding a small dogEleven years ago, Marcella Jones saw first-hand the immense number of homeless pets entering shelters every day in Los Angeles, and decided to do something about it. So, she founded the nonprofit organization Gone to the Dogs Rescue. This organization is located in Morro Bay, and operates in both Central and Southern California with the goal to “rescue the sick, the injured, the seniors, the forgotten, the invisible……and make them the best dogs they can be.” They have a mission to find underdogs their forever homes. “Gone to the Dogs Rescue rehabilitates, cares for, and transforms the once broken, into the most loved, and cherished family pets.” They are able to pull dogs out of high kill shelters and put them into loving homes.

One of Springdale Pet Ranch’s professional dog trainers, Jack Balster, adopted his chihuahua from Gone to the Dogs Rescue. He says “Rico just needed someone to give him another chance. Gone to the Dogs Rescue did just that. Instead of overlooking this senior chihuahua, they showed him that he was still deserving of a loving home. I am so thankful Rico was able to find his forever family with me.”

To do our part in helping this amazing organization, Springdale provides training for their rescue dogs. This training helps the rescue dogs gain the skills, confidence, and manners needed to succeed in their forever homes. We are currently training a spunky lab mix named Ginger. What could be better than adopting an already trained rescue dog? If you are interested in adopting, you can view their available pups here. If you can’t rescue right now, don’t worry! Gone to the Dogs Rescue has lots of ways to help from donating, to fostering, to volunteering. Please join us in supporting this incredible rescue organization in the Central Coast.
